Dear Yoshinkan Aikido students

It’s been some time since we had to cancel lessons and close the dojo in support of COVID-19 prevention measures. Although it seems like the pandemic will not end so soon, I’m sure everybody’s patience and efforts are making the difference and leading us to the breakthrough. I feel empty and lonely not having Aikido training which used to be a natural part of my everyday life. However I’m convinced that tatami is not the only place where we can practice Aikido. For us, practitioners of Yoshinkan Aikido now should be the perfect time to live the ideals of Aikido, as expressed by the words ‘合気即生活 (Aiki Soku Seikatsu: Aikido is life)’. Live your life, day to day, being concentrated on what you can and should do 'now'.

I will look forward to the day when life goes back to normal and we’ll be able to meet each other in the Dojo.
