General Class

A

"Training in the General Class primarily consists of ""kata"" keiko, which emphasizes structured practice through partner training. Through kata keiko, students not only refine their techniques but also deepen their understanding of the underlying principles (ri-ai) of Aikido. By practicing in a controlled and cooperative manner, they learn how to apply techniques effectively while maintaining harmony with their training partners.
Beginners start with the Basic Course, where they develop a strong foundation in fundamental techniques. Intermediate and advanced students progress to include applied techniques and weapons training. Participants are encouraged to train at a comfortable pace, aligned with their individual skill level, motivation, and personal goals."

A

Examinations for promotions from unranked to 4th Kyu are conducted monthly. For 3rd Kyu and above, examinations are held quarterly (March, June, September, and December). By passing the examinations, you steadily progress in your Aikido practice and achieve higher ranks.

A

The time required to achieve a black belt varies depending on training frequency and individual pace. Some may achieve it in 2–3 years, while others dedicate a decade or more, steadily refining their skills over time. The black belt is both a significant milestone and the beginning of deeper learning. Enjoy the journey at your own pace.

Children & Family Class

A

Children can join the Children's Class starting from first grade in elementary school.

A

Training in the Children's Class consists of "kata" keiko, a structured form of practice where children train in pairs, learning cooperation and fundamental Aikido techniques. Through kata keiko, they not only refine their movements but also begin to understand the core principles (ri-ai) of Aikido in a way that is easy to grasp. By practicing in a safe and supportive environment, they learn how to apply techniques effectively while working in harmony with their partners.
Special emphasis is placed on ukemi (falling safely), which helps children develop coordination, prevent injuries in daily life, and build physical strength. The class is designed to be engaging and enjoyable, ensuring that children can naturally develop confidence, discipline, and respect for others while improving their physical abilities.

Children's Class examinations are held quarterly (March, June, September, December). Successful examinations lead to rank advancement and belt color changes. These challenges foster perseverance and confidence.
